Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an extruded member from being deformed into flat during an extruding work by cooling under a condition wherein an interior portion of the extruded member is held by a nippled in an extrusion forming of a pipe of a crystallized high molecular material such as polyethylene or the like. CONSTITUTION:An extruded member 2 of a crystalized high molecular material, such as polyethylene or the like, is sent out of an extruder head by a die 1a for the extruder 1 and a nipple 1b. Thus the extruded member will come to a cooling zone 11 provided at a tip of the nipple 1b and is contracted by a sudden cooling, thereby, a clearance is produced between the nipple 1b, and the member is sent out further toward a take-out portion side, thus, cooling is promoted by cooling water from cooling-water supplying tubes 4. The extruded member 2 is cooled under a condition wherein an interior portion thereof is held by the nipple 1b in such a manner, therefore, the member 2 will never be deformed into flat during an extruding work and a normally formed pipe may be molded by the extrusion.
