Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A photoelectric conversion element 23, whose electric resistance varies upon reception of light illumination, is connected between an individual segment electrode 3 or an individual grid electrode 2 and an indicator tube terminal 6 for the respective electrode. In this constitution, the voltage applied to the individual electrode 3 or the grid electrode 2 can be varied in response to the outside illumination intensity, whereby the brightness for each segment or each unit-numerical letter can be compensated in response to the intensity of the outside illumination and the visibility can be enhanced.
