Abstract

PURPOSE: To take out a bias magnetic field variation due to a magnetic body moving in the neighborhood of two magnetic resistance elements connected in series between DC power sources, as the potential variation of the output terminal and to obtain a sufficient linear displacement.
CONSTITUTION: Magnetic resistance elements M1 and M2 are placed in parallel on base 6 and are connected in series. When sliding plate 14 is pressed, the end part of magnetic piece 15, which slopes on element M1, moves, and the resistance value of element M1 rises and the output level at output terminal 3 becomes low. Then, when magnetic piece 15 falls, the resistance values of both elements M1 and M2 become equal, and the output level assumes an intermediate value. Further, when magnetic piece 15 falls and lies only on element M2, the output level becomes a maximum. Throughout this time, the output becomes a signal which is nearly proportional to the displacement (stroke) of magnetic piece 15.
