Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve noise removing efficiency, by obtaining the ratio of a detected signal of filtered acoustic emission (AE) to a detected signal of unfiltered acoustic emission (AE) and multiplying the detected filtered signal by it.
CONSTITUTION: One of the AE signals detected by sensor 6 is discriminated by discriminator circuit 12a via BPF 8a corresponding to the AE signal and becomes voltage Ea. The other, which is not filtered, is discriminated by discriminator 12b, becomes voltage Eb, and is fed to multiplicatin-division circuit 13. This circuit 13 determines the ratio of voltage Ea to voltage Eb by division and further multiplies Ea by this ratio. Consequently, if the noise attenuation rate due to BFP 6 is denoted by Kn, where 0<Kn<1, then, noise voltage eno output by circuit 13 becomes the value given by Equation 1. Thus, noise removing efficiency is improved. Here, en represents the noise in the detected AE signal.
