Abstract

PURPOSE: To sufficiently maintain the tooth thickness of the pinion's tooth-base side and improve the pinion's mechanical strength by constituting a gear in such a manner that its tooth surface having a small pressure angle may have smaller effective engagement diameter of the tooth top side than the tooth top diameter.
CONSTITUTION: The tooth 11 of a gear is composed of a tooth surface 111 of a small pressure angle and a tooth surface 112 of a large pressure angle. The effective engagement diameter R1 of the tooth surface 111 having a small pressure angle is so constituted as to be smaller by C1 than the effective engagement diameter on the tooth top side of tooth surface 112 having a large pressure angle, that is, generally the tooth top diameter R2. A portion shown by an oblique line is truncated. In the meantime, the tooth 21 of a pinion is so constituted that its tooth-top side's effective engagement diameter R3 of tooth surface having a small pressure angle is larger by C1 than the tooth base side's effective engagement diameter R4 corresponding to the tooth top diameter R2 of gear 1.
