Abstract
PURPOSE:To double the production with a small equipment without much equipment investment by separately producing membranes in sucession by forming and cooling thermoplastic membrane using one cooling roll in common against more than one T dies. CONSTITUTION:For example when two T dies are used, thermoplastic resin melted by heat in an extruder is extruded at 2T dies 1 and 1' passing through a short tube dually branched off, solidified cooled separately on a main cooling roll 3 turning and withdrawn individually by way of withdrawing guide rolls 4 and 4'. When there is a room for the cooling speed, more than one T dies can be used. On the other hand, when the sort of the thermoplastic resin is of the quality that can not be cooled sufficiently due to slow cooling rate, the following method is available. In addition to the main cooling roll 3, an auxiliary cooling rolls 5 and 5' are provided in the proximity of the T dies 1 and 1' for preliminary cooling. After being nipped by the main roll 3 and auxiliary cooling rolls 5 and 5', the resin is cooled with the main cooling roll 3 to form membranes, which are individually withdrawn.
