Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a D-α-amino acid, by hydrolyzing an N-carbamoyl-α-amino acid with microorganisms.
CONSTITUTION: Microorganisms, e.g. Pseudomonas hydantoinophilum (FERM-P No.4347) or Arthrobacter fragilus (FERM-P No.4350), which belong to the genus Pseudomonas, Arthrobacter, Alcaligenes, Achromobacter, Moraxella, or Paracoccus, and have the ability to transform an α-amino acid into a D-α-amino acid, are made to act on an N-carbamoyl-α-amino acid.
