Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the improvement in performance by providing dielectric antireflecting films for abnormal light on prism surfaces.
CONSTITUTION: The dielectric antireflecting films G, H respectively composed of single layer or multilayer dielectric layers for abnormal light are provided on the surfaces a1, b1 of prisms A, B which are of right-angled triangular column form composed of double refracting crystals such as calcite and have optical axis in their axial direction, after which the surfaces a1, b1 are closely opposed in such a manner that their optical axes become mutually parallel and the prisms A, B are bonded by means of adhesive agents D. With this arrangement, part of the light LO incident from the outer side of the prism A toward the surfaces a1, b1 reflects at the position C between the surfaces a1, b1 and emits as normal light LN and when abnormal light LE emits by passing through the surfaces a1, b1, the reflection of the abnormal light LE in the position C is perfectly prevented, thus the entry of the abnormal light LE into the normal light LN is prevented.
