Abstract
PURPOSE:To firmly bond cation exchange films to each other, by interposing a porous hydrophilic fluorinated polymer between the films which have undergone a prescribed treatment and by fuse-bonding the films and the polymer to one another. CONSTITUTION:A porous hydrophilic fluorinated polymer, whose SO3H group or sulfonamide group is treated with a tertiary amine, a quaternary NH4 base or a salt thereof or by corona discharge, (stabilized) metallic sodium, potassium titanate, TiO2 or a surface active agent, is interposed between cation exchange films whose SO3H group or sulfonamide group is treated with a tertiary amine, a quaternary NH4 base or a salt thereof. The films and the polymer are then fuse-bonded to one another.
