Abstract

PURPOSE: To operate an air-fuel ratio controlling system with high accuracy for a long period, by providing a compensation circuit for varying a preset reference value on the basis of parameters representing secular change of sensor in a comparison circuit for comparing output of the sensor with the said reference value.
CONSTITUTION: Output signal of exhaust-gas sensor 11 is compared with a preset reference value in comparison circuit 12, and output of the circuit 12 is processed in air-fuel ratio controlling circuit 13 for driving air-fuel ratio controlling actuator 14. Here, there are further provided a reference value compensating circuit 15 for changing said reference value preset in comparison circuit 12 and a detection and judgement circuit 16 for detecting parameters such as running distance and operation time representing the secular change of sensor 11 so as to actuate said compensation circuit 15. The circuit 15 is designed, for instance, such that voltage at the input terminal of comparator C in comparison circuit 12 is varied by shifting the position of selector switch 20 and hence selecting either one of resistances R1 and R2 depending on the output of circut 16.
