Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure the effective character recognition for the hand-written document by recording the coordinate point informaion of the strokes forming the character onto the recording medium unified to the hand-writing paper based on the character writing order.
CONSTITUTION: The input device consists of stylus pen 1, hand-writing paper 2, tablet 3 and magnetic recording head 4 each. Tablet 3 possesses several pieces of X and Y lines buried, and the voltage pulses are applied to these lines in sequence. Pen 1 can write the characters and also picks up the voltage of the X and Y lines. Then the position of the pen is coded by the pick-up signals. Pen 1 incorporates the switch and starts the sampling action when it touches tablet 3.
