Abstract

PURPOSE: To bend the frame member without spoiling the appearance, by turning one of the two clamp mechanisms to clamp both ends of bending part of a frame member in the bending direction while gradually approaching to the bend starting point of the frame member.
CONSTITUTION: When bending a frame member b formed by extrusion of plastic and a similar frame member 8, first the part to be bent is heated and softened, and the heated part is positioned between clamp mechanisms 1, 2, and the both sides thereof are clamped on receiving parts 3, 4 by means of holding parts 5, 6. When the mechanism 2 on the movable side is driven, the frame member 8 begins to be bent along a guide plane 7 from the boundary A. When approaching the machanism 2 gradually towards the boundary A while turning it, compressive force is applied to the heated part of the frame member 8, so that the frame member 8 may be bent roughly at a right angle. Therefore, there is no risk of whitening or crack. Also, by properly adjusting the diameter of the base circle of the involute curve drawn by the mechanism 2, crease may be prevented.
