Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a circuit by eliminating the need for a prevention circuit of a calling-side channel by composing an electronic exchange of semiconductor devices for miniaturization and high performance and then by providing a constant-current circuit which allows an overcurrent flowing through the coupling capacitor of the channel to flow forward through the channel. CONSTITUTION:For a call between calling-side subscriber 4 and called-side subscriber 5, calling-side semiconductor channel 1 is coupled with called-side semiconductor channel 2 via electronic trunk 3. Channels 1 and 2 of this constitution are provided gate control type SCRs 6-9 and trunk 3 is further provided with calling- side and called-side channel switch holding constant current circuits 10-13 connected to power supplies 14 and 15, and coupling capacitors 16 and 17. Then, overcurrents generated through capacitors 16 and 17 when channel 1 is closed and channel 2 is also closed next are allowed by circuits 10-13 to flow forward through SCRs 6-9, thereby protecting SCRs 6-9.
