Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the distorsion of vertical deflection by functioning non-uniform magnetic field which synchronizes with vertical deflection field while stronger as departs from horizontal face of electron gun against electron beam shifting from the axis of electron gun.
CONSTITUTION: Distorsion corrector 9 of vertical deflection comprising coils 91W 93, 91'W93' located above and below the axis of electron guns 51W53 is provided between deflector 6 of inline color image pick-up tube and electron gun system 5. Magnetic field in same direction with vertical deflection magnetic field 62 is functioned on electron beams 71W73 by the current flowing through coils 91W93, 91'W93' and the strength of said non-uniform magnetic field is made minimum on horizontal face arranged with electron guns 51W53 and increased gradually as departing from said horizontal face. Since the electron at the outside of beam receives stronger force from distorsion correcting field than the electron near to the center, the shifting due to vertical deflection can be reduced resulting in picture image having high resolution.
