Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent uneven illumination and exposure, by varying the distance between light source and subject, or the distance between light source and condenser lens, and changing the supply power to the light source in cooperation therewith.
CONSTITUTION: When using a reader/printer as a reader, the light from a light source 4 is focused by a condenser lens group 5, and reflected by a mirror 7 to light the film in a carrier 3 through a condenser lens group 6. The image on this film is projected on a screen 12 by a projection lens 8 through mirrors 9W11. When the projection lens 8 is for low magnification, the lens group 5 is brought closer to the lens group 4, and a wide part of the film is illuminated uniformly, and supply power to the light source 4 is reduced in cooperation with this manipulation. When the lens 8 is for high magnification, on the other hand, the lens group 6 is moved away from the light source 4, and the illumination is concentrated in a narrow part of the film, and the supply power to the light source 4 is increased in cooperation with this manipulation. When printing, the lens 5 is adjusted to the optimum position as the reader, and a desired printing is performed.
