Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (X is halogen or trifluoromethyl; R is benzyl or alkoxyalkyl; A is pharmaceutically permissible organic acid; n is 1 or 2).
EXAMPLE: 1-[ N-( 4-Chloro-2-trifluoromethylphenyl )-2-propoxyacetimidyl ]imidazole oxalic acid salt.
USE: Agricultural and horticultural pesticide. Especially effective to powdery mildew of green vegetables, damping-off, scab of apple, scab, powdery mildew and rust of Japanese pear, and helminthosporium leaf spot of corn. Low phytotoxicity.
PROCESS: A salt of the objective compound I is prepared by reacting a compound II with an organic acid in a proper solvent. The organic acid is the one which can form a stable salt with the compound II, e.g. oxalic acid and maleic acid.
