Abstract
PURPOSE: A cockroach insecticide, usable on its path or a place on which feed is placed by taking advantage of its habit, or applied to its body directly, comprising a solution or powder consisting of dihydroacetic acid or its derivative as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: Dihydroacetic acid itself shows cockroach killing activity, and it metalic salt, e.g., that of Na, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, or Zn as an active ingredient can be used together with one or more material selected from the group consisting of an inert extender, solvent, auxiliary, additive of increasing effect, and attractant. This mixture is prepared in the form of aerosol, powder,oil, emulsion, paste, etc. or used directly in the form of fine powder. The insecticide is put on a place where a cockroach likely comes into contact with it, e.g., its possible path, a spot with feed, its surroundings, or its gathering place, or applied to its body directly.
