Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an excellently designed molded FRP bathtub having a pattern by using an unwoven cloth which is not rendered opaque even when it is superposed on another during a molding operation, whereby that portion of the resulting bathtub where unwoven cloths are superposed on each other remains to be transparent.
CONSTITUTION: Grain of stone or wood, or an abstract picture is printed by a photogravure press or transferred by a transcriber directly on or to an unwoven cloth wherein not less than 50% of pure polyester fiber of acrylic fiber containing no mixture or impurities, whereby the unwoven cloth is rendered opaque when it is impregnated with a resin, is contained; the fiber is not more than 3 denier in thickness and 20W50g/m2; and 1-binder or styrene-soluble binder (for example, an emulsion of vinyl acetate) is used. The unwoven cloth is thus patterned. A bathtub is produced by a hand-lay-up method by using such a patterned unwoven cloth, with which the bathtub is decorated.
