Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the negative-chargeable toner of stable non-tackiness and non- spent conversion and obtain distinct copied images by adding the organic acid having the specific carbon fluoride groups to the toner composed primarily of coloring agnets and binders.
CONSTITUTION: The organic acid having carbon fluoride groups such as C5F17CH2 CH2COOH shown by the formula in the drawing column is contained to the toner containing binders (styrene copolymer, etc.) and coloring agents, at 1.0W 20wt% based on the total weight of the toner. The organic acid makes monomolecular adsorption on photoreceptor surface and is therefore helpful for the non-tackiness and non-spentconversion of the toner. In addition, this toner charges negative through friction with many materials and therefore if it is friction-charged with suitable materials other than carrier particles, it is used as a one-component developer as well.
