Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent abrasion at specific portions of a flexible member caused by horizontal displacement of a vehicle and extend the member's life expectancy, by putting synthetic fiber net between the flaxible member composing an air spring and face plates. CONSTITUTION:An air spring suspended by a bolsterless frame for vehicle use is composed of a troidal flexible member 1 and upper and lower face plates 2, 3 holding the member between them, the upper one being composed of a metallic unit 2a, externally tapered rubber unit 2b and synthetic resin unit 2c. A synthetic fiber net 5 is put between the flexible member 1 and the resin unit 2c of the upper face plate 2 and between the member 1 and the lower face plate 3, respectively. The intervention of nets 5 prevents the flaxible member 1 from being worn-out at the said portions and also reduces the horizontal spring constant of the air spring.
