Abstract

PURPOSE: A thermoplastic resin is melt extruded from two spinnerets which are cooled under different conditions and adjacent to each other, into two kinds of fibers and they are combined under specific conditions, thus producing combined filament yarns with latent shrinkability with industrial advantage.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic resin as polyester is extruded out of two spinnerets A and B adjacent to each other into yarns a and b. These yarns a and b are cooled by winds Q1 and Q2 which are different in the cooling conditions from each other. In the meantime, yarns a and b from spinnerets A and B are divided respectively into a1 and a2, and b1 and b2 and separated yarns a1 and b1, and a2 and b2 are combined respectively and wound up. Preferably, the spinnerets A and B are designed so that the size of the nozzles is made to differ, thus giving different deniers or the cross section is made to differ, thus giving different cross section of filaments and/or the number of nozzles is made to differ.
