Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve the improvement in desulfurization efficiency and the reduction of desulfurizing agent original units by using the desulfurizing agent composed primarily of CaO, blowing hydrocarbon-base gas into a molten iron bath under stirring of molten iron with a rotary vane and maintaining the stirring atmosphere at reducing characteristic. CONSTITUTION:First, the desulfurizing agent 7 composed primarily of CaO is added to molten iron 6. Next, hydrocarbon-base gas is supplied by way of a hollow shaft 1 and an impeller 3 is gradually lowered to be dipped into the molten iron 6, after which the impeller 6 is revolved, whereby the desulfurization is executed. Throughout this time, the blowing of the hydrocarbon-base gas is continued. When the desulfurization is completed, first the revolution of the impeller 3 is stopped to let the impeller 3 rise. After this, the hydrocarbon-base gas is the shaft 1 is purged by inert gas such as N2 or Ar.
