Abstract
PURPOSE:To accurately perform roll alignment measurement without receiving vibrations of dummy bars, etc. by making the relative spacing of the arm root part of the captioned device expandable and shrinkable and providing a pair of arms which are contractable only during advancing between rolls to the root part of the arms. CONSTITUTION:An arm root part 44 is moved in the arrow A direction of the device body 30 from the state where a roll alignment measuring device 28 is inserted into a slag guide zone 16, by which it is approached to rolls 12A, 14A. Hence, arms 48A, 48B turn and according to the movement of the root part 44, they are passed through the rolls 12A, 14A and are further advanced in the A direction. Here, the arms 48A, 48B cannot move in the opposite direction and therefore the arm root part 46 and body 30 are pulled in the A direction. The movement of this root part 46 causes the arms 48A, 48B to contact the rolls 12B, 14B, turn in the manner similar to the arms of the root part 44, pass between these rolls, again expand and stop. Namely the roll alignment such as roll gap may be surely measured with the alignment measuring means mounted to the body 30.
