Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an antistatic agent capable of developing sufficient antistatic property even at a low humidity condition by mixing a specific quat. ammonium salt with a specific anionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:One mole of (A) and 0.3-1.2 moles of (B) are mixed wherein (A) is a quat. ammonium salt represented by the formula I or II (R1, R2 are 9-27C aliph. alkyl; R3-5 are 1-3C alkyl, benzyl, or epichlorohydrin residual gp.; X is halogen, 1-3C alkyl-contg. monoalkyl sulfate gp.; m n are 2-4) and (B) is an anionic surfactant selected from (a) 10-18C alkyl contg. alkylbenzenesulfonic acid (salt), (b) 10-30C alkylbenzenesulfonic acid (salt), (c) 10-20C alkyl sulfate (salt), (d) 8-20C alkyl contg. mono- or di-alkyl phosphate (salt), and (e) dialkylsulfosuccinic acid (salt) derived from 8-22C aliph. alc. (with counter ion constituting salt being alkali metal, ammonium, or 3C or less alkylamine).
