Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain the developing capacity of developing solution always at the specified level by substantially eliminating the time lag at the supply time of replenisher.

CONSTITUTION: A film area detector 6 and a film blackened area detector 14 are provided in the arbitrary position of a developing tank 1. These are connected to a blackened area rate selector 8 and a predicted replenisher supply pump 11 by way of a predicted replenishing amount calculator 10 and to a replenisher supply pump 16 by way of a replenisher amount calculalor 15. With this arrangement, the required replenisher amount based on the kind and area of the film 7 to be processed are predicted and the replenisher is supplied to the developing tank 1 at the arbitrary time after the passage of the film 7 through the film area detector 6, after which the replenisher amount actually required is calculated based on the film 7 after the development and the replenisher is supplied to the predicted replenisher storage vessel 12 in which the storage amount has decreased by as much as the predicted and supplied amount, thence the difference between the predicted replenisher amount and the actually measured replenisher amount is supplied to the developing tank 1 by way of an overflow pipe 19.
