Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Polymerization of an unsaturated monomer, e.g. vinyl chloride, etc., or curing of an unsaturated monomer-containing resin composition, e.g. unsaturated polyester resins, etc., is carried out at 50W60°C in the presence of a dialkyl peroxycarbonate expressed by the formula (R is isopropyl, 2-ethylhexyl, etc.) as a catalyst and cyclopentadienyl iron (ferrocene) as an accelerator to give the desired polymer. The preferred weight ratio of ferrocene to the dialkyl peroxycarbonate is 0.0001W0.5.
