Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a cremation means designed to give a sense of security to the bereaved family by perfectly separating the three functions, i.e., laying of the body in state, burning and cooling, of the crematory.
CONSTITUTION: The coffin 3 containing the body is moved through a decorated door 5 into a body resting chamber 6 having the decorated walls by a coffin transfer means 2 having a transfer table. Then the coffin 3 is moved from the body resting chamber 6 by the transfer means 2 into the adjoining main burning chamber 9 through an openable shielding door 10 on the body resting chamber side and the body is burned into ashes therein. Then the ashes and transfer table are carried out of the main burning chamber 9 by the coffin transfer means 2 into a separate adjoining cooling chamber 12 through an openable shielding door 11 on the cooling chamber side and subjected to cooling, and finally the ashes and transfer table are moved out of the cooling chamber 12 by the coffin transfer means 2 to an ash gathering chamber 18 outside the crematory through a door 17.
