Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve strength of the phosphor film without reduction of brightness of the lamp by limitting the reaction ratio of calcium pyrophosphate to a specified value.
CONSTITUTION: The strength of a phosphor film increases reducing the reaction ratio of calcium pyrophosphate, on the other hand brightness of the lamp decreases reducing the reaction ratio in the range below 85%. The phosphor film is formed limitting the reaction ratio to the range of 85W97%. Thus the strength of the film is increased without reduction of brightness of the lamp.
