Abstract

PURPOSE:To precisely attach a shadow-mask to a panel by only setting the shadow- mask structure at an approximate position without using panel pins as the references, and to achieve automatic attaching and detaching of the shadow-mask by a simple mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The apparatus comprises a panel holder 8 for holding a panel 1 and providing an approximate position for it, a mechanism for moving the panel holder 8 up and down consisting of a guide shaft 9, cylinder 10, and a rod 11, a pressing pawl 12 mechanism for pressing a spring 6 provided on the shadow-mask 3 structure to fit on the panel pin 2 provided on the panel 1, and a holder mechanism for holding the frame 4 of the shadow-mask 3 structure at an approximate holding position. The pressing pawl 12 mechanism and the holder mechanism for the frame are provided on a base 14 which is rotatable with respect to the panel holder 8. Thus, automatic attaching and detaching of the shadow-mask can reliably be effected with reduced man-hours.
