Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a general-purpose polymer composite having excellent mechanical properties such as elastic modulus, by dissolving an aromatic polyamide and an aliphatic polyamide in a solvent, and precipitating the polymers in a non- solvent coagulating bath.
CONSTITUTION: A polymer mixture composed of (A) ≤30wt% of an aromatic polyamide having a logarithmic viscosity of ≥0.5, and consisting of molecular chains of formulas I and II (Ar1 is III, Ar2 is IV; X is alkyl, alkoxy or halogen; ≤20mol% of Ar1 and/or Ar2 may be substituted by other bivalent para-orienting groups), and (B) an aliphatic polyamide such as 6-nylon, 12-nylon, etc., is dissolved in a solvent such as concentrated sulfuric acid, chlorosulfuric acid, etc. The solution is coagulated in a non-solvent coagulation bath such as water, dilute sulfuric acid, methanol, etc. to obtain the objective polymer composite.
