Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable various characteristics to be measured with an observation optical system and a photometric optical system by disposing the specified optical elements to a laser generator and subjecting these optical elements to insertion, removal and optical path changeover. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam from a generator 1 is led via filter 2 for intensity adjustment, mirros 3, 4, shutter 5, shaping filter 6 for intensity distribution to a filter 7 which weakens the beam for a certain fixed time and a chopper 8 which cuts off the beam. The above-mentioned 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 are made insertable. Next, an optical path changeover mirror 11 causes only the laser light to be led to a sample 21 by a polarizer 16, radiation aperture 17, 1/4lambda phase plate 18, dichroic mirror 19 and objective lens 20. The fluorescence from the sample is led to an observation optical system 31 and photometirc optical systems 33 thru 40. A polarizer 25, phase plate 26 and condenser lens 27 are disposed to the other system path of the optical path changeover mirror 11. These enable the measurement of fluorescence intensity, the measurement of fluorescence anisotropy, the measurement of the recovery of fluorescent light fading, the measurement of fluorescence correlation, the measurement of absorption dichromaticity and the measurement of double refraction to be accomplished.
