Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the size and weight of a rack drive pinion type jack by exactly engaging a rack with a pinion and employing a simple truss leg column construction.
CONSTITUTION: A gear train is provided on one end surface of a thick plate and a flat rack bar 7 is mounted on the other surface perpendicularly with respect to the center of a truss leg 1 to thereby form a column 3. A slide 13 making slidably contact with the other surface of a rack bar 7 is integrally mounted at the frame 16 of a unit 10. The rack bar 7 is supported by the guide 13, and elevationally driven up and down by driving the pinion 12. The column 3 is constructed by welding the end of plate material of circular shape in cross section to the rack bar 7.
