Abstract

PURPOSE: To smoothly perform elevating operation of the support beam by such things as carrying of an elevating operating mechanism with a crane onto an anode bus and anode rod, pressing and fixing the anode rod to the anode bus with an operating cylinder, supplying current and others in elevating an anode rod support beam of multi-electrode type Al electrolytic furnace.
CONSTITUTION: A working table 14 which is folded as shown by imaginary lines is lowered like solid lines, thence an operating cylinder 10 is operated to fix an anode rod 3 to a stationary anode bus 1. Next, the operator riding on the working table 14 releases a clamp 18, lifts a support beam 2 and tightens the clamp 18 after this. After ending of these operations, the body 9 removed from above the electrolytic furnace is tilted of its oscillation blocking rod 6 as shown by imaginary lines. Since the blocking rod 6 of the body 9 is accepted into the guide pipe 8 of an overhead travelling crane 7, the oscillation of the body 9 in the suspended state is prevented and may be safely operated, and yet the carrying of the same to or from the electrolytic furnace is rapidly accomplished.
