Abstract

PURPOSE: A foam useful as sealing material for cars that is composed of an ethylene- α-olefin copolymer rubber composition with a specific constitution and intrinsic viscosity and high strength/weight ratio, thus being capable of containing a large amount of inexpensive bulk filler.
CONSTITUTION: The objective foam is made from an ethylene-α-olifin copolymer rubber composition that consists of (A) ethylene and (B) 4W10C α-olefin at a molar ratio of 80/20W95/5, preferably 83/17W95/5 and has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.6W6.0, preferably 0.8W4.0dl/g. When necessary, a polyene component as 1,4- hexadiene is added to the composition in an amount corresponding to 4W50 iodine value.
EFFECT: Thus obtained foam has ozone-, weather- and heat-resisting property equal to ethylene propylene copolymer heretofore in use and can be more cheaply produced
