Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of noises as well as damages due to heat, by covering the outside of exhaust pipe with woven wire netting with a suitable spacing from the surface of the exhaust pipe. CONSTITUTION:In the example shown in the drawing, the apparatus of this invention is applied to the front pipe of exhasut system. In this case, metal conduit 11 is provided at its opposite ends with flanges 12, 13 and serves to carry exhaust gas from engine to catalytic converter. Woven wire netting 14 is arranged on the outside of conduit 11 with suitable spacing 15 from the outer surface of the conduit 11, in the manner covering the outer surface of the same substantially along the entire length of conduit 11. Here, spacing 15 can be formed as hollow space 16 or otherwise heat-resisting heat-insulating material 17 can be filled in the space. In case that spacing 15 is formed as hollow space 16, there are employed separators or spacers 18. With such an arrangement, heat radiating area is increased by the wire netting 14, and at the same time, transmission of heat from conduit 11 to wire netting 14 is improved by the presence of hollow space 16 or heat-insulating material 17, so that occurrence of damages due to heat can be prevented and noises produced by conduit 11 can be also absorbed by the hollow space 16 or heat-insulating material 17.
