Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to clearly discriminate the records in the vicinity of a sea surface and in the sea by using ultrasonic waves having two kinds of pulse widthes. CONSTITUTION:Thin and thick pulses are simultaneously oscillated from oscillators 2 and 3, and the ultrasonic waves of both pulses are reflected from transmitter- receivers 4 and 5 so that the respective reflected waves are amplified at 6 and 7, respectively, and fed to a memory 8. The reflected waves of the thin pulses are shown in waveforms (a), whereas those of the thick pulses are shown in waveforms (b). By supplying the output of the memory 8 to a recorder 9, waveforms (c) are recorded so that the clear records can be obtained from the surface of a sea surface to a deep portion in the sea.
