Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid the color change or the flicker at the border line area which is caused by the partial phase variation of the color subcarrier by using the differentiating circuit to obtain the border waveform and then the blurred border wipe for the border line.
CONSTITUTION: Two video signals v1 and v2 are compounded according to gate signal c4 sent from slice circuit 4. Composite video signal v3 is then compounded with border signal v6 containing the color subcarrier expressing the desired color at linear gate circuit 5. Soft wipe waveform generator circuit 7 produces soft wipe waveform v7, and gate signal c9 to gate the border signal is obtained via differentiating circuit 8 and rectifier circuit 9 to be applied to circuit 5. Output video signal v5, in which the border between signal v6 and v1/v2 does not change suddenly, is thus obtained, and as a result no color disturbance is caused on the screen at the border area.
