Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a device which operates an alarm method on sensing magnitude of an earthquake, by placing a bead on a curved surface and then by providing several shock sensors which detect the movement of the bead by a conductor.
CONSTITUTION: Bead 2 is placed which rolls freely on curved surface 1 where its center point to make use of a phenomenon that once curved surface 1 vibrates, bead 2 is displaced from the center point until vibration energy becomes equal to position energy. Curved surface 1 and bead 2 are made of an electric conductor and conductor 3 is arranged which meet bead 2 at the time of fixed displacement, thereby providing electric detection by terminals 4 and 5. Arranging conductor 3 at positions equivalent to magnitudes 3, 4 and 5 makes it possible to detect magnitude of an earthquake. Then, alarm methods are operated corresponding to the magnitude to obtain a multi-level shock alarm device.
