Abstract

PURPOSE:A more economical regeneration method enabling to save the quantity of eluent used and to shorten the regeneration time. CONSTITUTION:Heavy metals are eluted and recovered from a chelate resin consisting of styrene-divinyl benzene copolymer main chain and having heavy metal- adsorbing base of iminopropionic and/or iminodipropionic acid as functional groups, by an eluent consisting of 0.5-3 N aqueous mineral acid solution in an amount of one to six times as much as the volume of the resin and an eluting water in an amount of one to 10 times as much as the volume of the resin. Then, an aqueous alkali metal or alkaline earth metal solution is used to regenerate the chelate resin.
