PURPOSE: To provide a method of reducing the construction cost of a breakwater or the like as compared with the conventional process without necessity of providing means for increasing the coefficient of friction between the hulk and the mound to largely set the width of the mound by utilizing large hulls to construct the stable breakwater or the like without widening the contact area between the hull and the mound.
CONSTITUTION: When the hulls 1 of hulks are placed on a mound 6 constructed in place on the sea bottom of a harbor or the like to thereby build a breakwater or the like, the hull is divided into a plurality of divisions 2W4 along the lateral direction of the ship. Then the bottom portion 5 of the divided hulls 2W4 are cut and removed to thus form a construction of the shape to allow the bottom portion 5 to be intruded into the mound 6, and to allow the divided hulls 2W4 to be fixed on the mound 6.
