Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the promotion of reduction of the water thrust, by making a distance, from a backpressure chamber side opening part of link pipe that directly links the backpressure chamber and side pressure chamber to a runner rotating center shaft, bigger than a distance, from a side pressure chamber side opening part to the runner rotating center shaft.
CONSTITUTION: A backpressure chamber 11 is constructed by an upper cover 7 and a crown 6, and a side pressure chamber 12 constructed by a lower cover 9 and a band 8. A distance r1, between an upper cover side opening part 13 of a link pipe 4 that links the backpressure chamber 11 to the side pressure chamber 12 and a runner rotating center shaft, is made bigger than a distance r2, between a lower cover side opening part 14 and the runner rotating center shaft. In such dimension as r1>r2, a water leak amount at the backpressure chamber 11 side can be reduced as compared with a joint use of a balance hole or inside balance pipe conventionally provided for reducing a water thrust, thus the thrust force working against the runner can be reduced.
