Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce shell sand and recyclically use backup sand simply through grinding by reinforcing the shell by the back sand for which water-soluble glue is used as a main binder.
CONSTITUTION: After a die 1 is heated to about 250W300°C, coated sand for shell mold is dumped on the die surface. In 2W3 seconds after this, the die is turned over to drop the uncured coated sand. A shell layer 2 of about 1W2mm in thickness is formed to the die surface of the die 1. Next, a metal frame 3 is placd on the die 1 and backup sand 4 is filled therein and is squeezed. On this is placed an air suction cover 5 and the air among the backup sand 4 particles is extracted through the air suction cover 5 by a vacuum pump or the like or air is flowed to dry and set the backup sand 4, whereby the shell layer 2 of about 1W2mm in thickness formed on the die surface and the backup sand 4 are bonded and integrally constituted. When this is pushed up by knock pins 6 and is parted from the die, then the mold 7 having the extremely thin shell layer 2 on the die surface is obtained.
