Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the measuring accuracy of a wedge filter by combining a plurality of materials so that the ratio of composite radiation absorption coefficient of radiant ray of any energy to that of water of the same energy becomes constant.
CONSTITUTION: A wedge filter 5 used for an X-ray computer tomograph (CT) consists, for ecample, of carbon material 5b having a plane one surface (the surface of X-ray source side) and other arcuate recess curved surface (the surface of detected side), and aluminum material 5a so formed as to be rolled substantially in uniform thickness along the recessed surface of the material 5b. When the ratio in thickness of the material 5a to the material 5b is set to 1:16, the radiant ray absorption coefficient of the filter 5 becomes most uniform.
