Abstract

PURPOSE: In the treatment of soft grounds in rivers and bays, to reduce the quantity of a hardening agent to be charged at hard portions of the ground, further to move a plant ship rapidly, to increase the quantity of the hardening agent and to move the ship slowly thereby to harden the full part of the ground to a uniform hardness.
CONSTITUTION: Pulling devices 1a and 1b are provided by holding the soft ground A, and a plant ship 2 is moved by said pulling devices 1a and 1b. The plant ship 2 is provided with means for feeding the hardening agent. At comparatively hard portions (a) of the soft ground A the plant ship 2 is advanced rapidly and the quantity of the hardening agent to be charged per unit soft ground is reduced. Further, at comparatively soft portions b of the soft ground A the speed of the plant ship 2 is decreased, and the quantity of the hardening agent to be charged per unit soft ground is increased, thus any of soft and hard grounds undergoes a hardening treatment to a uniform hardness.
