Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I or its salts.
USE: Bactericide; they prevent a wide range of blights including rust and powdery mildew in apple trees and since they pnenetrate into tissues of plants, the effectiveness is high. They also are effective against resisting bacteria and nontoxic.
PREPARATION: The reaction of 2-(1,2,4-triazole-1-yl)-4,4-dimethylpentane-3-one with p-chlorobenzyl halide is effected in the presence of a base to form a compound of formula III, which is reduced with a reducing agent as complex metal hydride (sodium borohydride) in an inert solvent as methanol to give the compound of formula I. It is mixed with a carrier to form a preparation of 0.1W95.0wt% concentration.
