PURPOSE:Recording material which has a color development under a high concentration, a stable characteristic against heat, light and water etc. and a superior fastness consisting of a pigment precursor having an organic ligand to show a dark color development by complex formation with metallic compound, and of a metalic compound for making a color development of the pigment leader. CONSTITUTION:Recording material including a color former made of said pigment precursor of triarylmethane or xanthene series having an organic ligand (for example: o-cresol-phttalein complexon) and a developer of a metallic compound showing a dark colour development under complex formation with the colour former (for example, calcium 2-ethylhexanoate). It is preferable to add organic base (for example, stearyl amine) in order to adjust a value of pH of the system to a proper range of value. Said recording material, for example, pressure-sensitive copy paper is made by such a process as solution having one of the color former and the development melted in the proper solvent is made to form a micro-capsule, applied to one side of a paper, the other is similarly made to form a micro-capsule to be applied to the same plane or different plane of the paper.
