Abstract

PURPOSE: To conduct automatic adjustment for preventing over-cooling by controlling the operation of a compressor or the like by the output signal of a device which compares a frequency corresponding to a presettable desired difference between room temperature and outside-air temperature with a frequency corresponding to the difference between high-frequency signals of the room temperature and of the outside-air temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A room temperature sensor 4 comprises a temperature-sensitive element 5 and an oscillator 6 which converts the temperature detected by the element 5 into a high-frequency signal, while an outside-air temperature sensor 7 comprises a temperature-sensitive element 8 and an oscillator 9. The sensors 4 and 7 are arranged respectively inside and outside a room, independently of an air conditioner main body, and transmit their high-frequency signals to the air conditioner. There are also provided: differential-frequency converters 12 and 16 which convert the difference between the high-frequency signals into a frequency corresponding to the difference; and comparators 21 and 23 which compare the outputs of the converters 12 and 16 with a frequency corresponding to a presettable desired difference between room temperature and outside-air temperature. The operation of a compressor 25 or the like is controlled by the output signals of comparators 21 and 23.
