Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin tube which is light, tough, and very flexible, by extruding both a pipe and a stranded wire at the same time thereby integrally molding the wire into the inner wall of the pipe which is cooled, and then reheated and cooled under pressure. CONSTITUTION:Both a thermoplastic resin pipe 3 and a stranded wire 6 are extruded at the same time through a stationary die 1 and a rotary die 5 being concentrically located inside the die 1 respectively, and are introduced to a sizing device. The pipe 3 and wire 6 are integrally molded due to heat generated during the extrusion, then cooled and solidified in a cooling water tank 8. Thus obtained resin tube is reheated and softened, then it is cooled under pressure applied on the tube. As a result, the thermoplastic resin tube with a smooth and even surface is obtained by utilizing a deformation due to the external pressure and difference in internal contraction strese due to difference in thermal capacity at thicker sections and thinner sections of the pipe. EFFECT:The tube possesses flexibility as well as firmness against collapse due to pressure.
