Abstract

PURPOSE: To detect any faulty point of lead wire to find out the direction and location thereof due to its earth or by shorted fattery, in such a way that lead wire to be tested is grasped by clamp part of searching device of which contact element with test lamp is nextly brought into contact with incised point of the lead wire.
CONSTITUTION: Lead wire 1-1 to be tested is first grasped by clampling part 3, and contact element 4 is then brought into contact with incised point on either side of the lead wire 1-1. Merely by ascertaining whether buzzer 23 sounds or not, or whether emission diode 24 flashes or not, the direction of grounded point GD of the lead wire 1-1 can be easily determined. When the contact element 4 is separated from the lead wire 1-1, circuit of power source 7 becomes open so that voltage of voltage generating section 26 is also lost, resulting that thyristor is brought to OFF, and whole of the device is restored.
