Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the strength of cable by thickening of thickness of tape, facilitate the forming, simplify the forming jigs, and increase the speed of production, by providing a linear thin wall part in the tape ending position.
CONSTITUTION: When producing a V-shaped tape by letting off a tape and an optical fiber from a rotary gauge, a groove 22 is provided in the longitudinal direction in the central part of a thick wall tape 21. The groove 22 may be bent either inward or outward. The optical fiber is settled into the V-recess. When the groove is set outside, since a cavity is made in the central part of the cable when gathering the cable, a high tensile strength wire may be placed into the cavity as a tension member. As a result, the groove may be graved before letting off and bending the flat tape, and by letting off the pre-bent tape, the constitution of the device may be simplified.
